My Undead MotherInLaw Progress Update December 5, 2016

Belated Book Status Update – My Undead MotherInLaw

Firstly, I just made progress on My Undead MotherInLaw! So far I’m 75% complete on the Week 4 phase. 5 Days remain until the deadline. Oh–the deadline, November 30th has passed. So I’m late.  But I’m still plugging!dsc_6975bl

Here’s a synopsis of My Undead Mother-in-law:

Synopsis

Let me tell what what my undead mother-in-law is like: she likes to bake cookies and apple pie. Oh, and she terrorizes her zombie son and daughter-in-law to be for not being married.

Me, I married her daughter Diane before she became a zombie.  That was a big change in our relationship. Most of the time, she’s just like a normal person, with bright red, glowing eyes. But when she loses her temper–look out!

I’m just an internet marketing rep and part time blogger. Ron Yardly. But I’ll tell you the tale of my zombie mother-in-law. Don’t flinch.

This review is from: Bullies, Bastards And Bitches: How To Write The Bad Guys Of Fiction (Paperback)
As a fantasy author, I learned a lot about writing villains. I was in the middle of writing my sequel, “My Undead Mother-in-law” and it ended up much better (according to early readers; it’s not out until July 2017).

Besides villains, Ms. Morrell also covers dark heroes, anti-heroes, sympathetic villains, likable bad guys, neutral characters and truly wicked ones. She has a chapter on psychopaths and sociopaths, too, providing definitions and examples of each. She goes further, giving resources the reader can pursue to understand the psychology of criminals.

Indeed, the many examples she cites of heroes, lovable bad guys, and villains from contemporary culture, fiction, and movies, are probably the best feature of the book. I recommend this book for anyone interested in writing or learning to write.
